By Bus

A) From Lisbon-Tomar: Travel by bus from Lisbon to Tomar via the “Sete Rios” station. Consult the Rede Expressos website for timetables and ticket booking.

By Train

A) From Lisbon (from South) – At Oriente station, you can take a regional train direct to the city of Tomar. To check timetables and tickets here: https://www.cp.pt/passageiros/pt

B) From Porto (from North)

From Porto Airport: There is a direct connection from the airport to the Metro station. Take the metro to ‘Campanhã Train Station, in the city of Porto. From Campanhã station, you can buy a train ticket to Tomar. Note: You will need to change trains at Entroncamento station.

By Car

A) From Lisbon (from South) – Take the A1 motorway (A1 NORTE) to the north. Take the exit towards A23-N110-N243 towards Abrantes – Castelo Branco – Torres Novas – Tomar – Alcanena.

Take the A23 and exit towards Tomar/Coimbra, via the A13. Then you will have a first exit 17 to Tomar Sul (towards the city center) and then a second exit (exit 18) to Tomar Este which gives direct access to the IPT campus.

B) From Porto:

Take the A1 motorway (A1 towards LISBOA). Take the exit towards A23-N110-N243 towards Abrantes – Castelo Branco – Torres Novas – Tomar – Alcanena.

Take the A23 and exit towards Tomar/Coimbra, via the A13. Then you will have a first exit 17 to Tomar Sul (towards the city center) and then a second exit (exit 18) to Tomar Este which gives direct access to the IPT campus.

In Tomar

In Tomar the distances are small. Between the city center and the IPT Campus, where the ICARSC2023 conference is taking place, the distance is only 1.5 km, so walking is possible, in addition to being healthy.

In any case, there is the possibility of using taxis and also a public transport system (TUT), whose blue line ensures the connection between the city and the IPT Campus. Schedules can be consulted here.
